Former Asante Kotoko striker Frank Etouga Mbella is encouraging his former teammates to take responsibility and turn things around amid club’s calamitous performance in the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors has been dismal in the domestic top-flight and are currently ranked 11th in the standings with 33 points.

They have suffered six defeats in their last seven games in the Ghanaian top-flight, picking just a point across the period.

Speaking to Ghanasportspage, Mbella, who currently plies his trade for El Gouna expressed his displeasure about the performance of Kotoko in the Premier League campaign and has therefore urged his former teammates to accept responsibility and turn things around.

“I have been monitoring what is happening in Kotoko, even though I am not there, but I still follow the club every week when they play, and I can see that they are going through a difficult situation, but I want to encourage my former teammates to take responsibility and make things better.”

Mbella became fans favourite during his time with the Porcupine Warriors. He scored 21 goals to propel the Ghanaian giants to clinch the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title.

The Cameroonian attacker left Kotoko to join Egyptian outfit Al Masry after impressing in the Ghanaian scene. Currently, he on loan at El Gouna.
