Former Liverpool Striker Receives 6-Month Suspended Prison Sentence for Domestic Violence & Forgery

Ex-Premier League striker Titi Camara has been given a suspended prison sentence for forgery, threats and wounding with intent in anassault onhis wife last year.


The 44-year-old spent one season (1999/2000) with Liverpool andalso starred for West Ham, wasthe Guinea national captain and previouslyserved as the African nation's sport's minister.

As reported by the Sun, Camara's former partner Mariam Koulibaly reported the man once ranked 91st in a Liverpool club website poll of"100 Players Who Shook The Kop" to police in September 2016 for assault.


On December 22, acourt in the Guinea has handed Camara a six-month suspended prison sentence, along with a fine of around£4,400, after finding him guilty of wounding with intent, threats and forgery.


Following the verdictCamara's lawyer Youssouf Camara stated : We disagree with the verdict, and we will appeal against it.�

However, Koulibaly's legal advisor said: "The fact he has been found guilty is satisfying. The law has won.


"We will appeal to get an increased payment. The current amount won't even pay the children's school fees."


Camara is perhaps best remembered on Merseyside for scoring the winner in a 0-1 win over Arsenal at Highbury.After leaving West Ham in 2003, Camara had spells in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, before briefly taking charge of the Guinea national team.
