Former Spurs Star Hits Out at Sky Sports and Thierry Henry Over Anti-Tottenham Bias

Published on: 03 January 2017

Former Tottenhamdefender Graham Roberts has sent out a plea to Sky Sports ahead ofSpurs' Premier League clash with Arsenal, asking them to takeformer Arsenal forward Thierry Henry off their coverage of Tottenham matches.

Henry has been outspoken in the past about his dislike of his former north London rivals, and Roberts hit out at what he perceived as biased coverage from the 39-year-old former Gunner.

Painful @SkySportsNewsHQ @SkySports keep putting Henry on keep him off the spurs games please awful pundit taking away spurs bias!

Tweeting late on Tuesday night, he wrote:"Painful @SkySportsNewsHQ @SkySports keep putting Henry on keep him off the spurs games please awful pundit taking away spurs bias!"

The expectation for pundits to remain neutral appears to have dwindled as match coverage has become more and more heavily saturated with recently-retired players, with former on-pitch rivals Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville facing off time and again on Sky's Monday Night Football show, but Roberts still appeared less than entirely impressed with Henry's commitment to balance.

That being said...when he tweeted, Henry hadjust been asked if he would be supporting Spurs against Chelsea on Wednesday in order to help Arsenal's title chances, replying:"I won't be, but maybe they [the fans] will be. That would be too much for me [to support Tottenham]."

Not controversial there. Not at all.
