Former Ghana international Felix Aboagye believes Black Stars opponent Egypt stands a chance of winning the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations title.
The four-time African champions are paired in Group B against Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique ahead of the tournament to be staged in Ivory Coast next year.
Despite expressing confidence about Ghana’s chances, the former Al Ahly star insists Egypt has a strong chance of annexing the upcoming AFCON title.
Quizzed if Ghana and Egypt are capable of winning the AFCON 2023 title, he said, “Yes, Egypt and Ghana are capable of winning the tournament. At the present time, Ghana is not performing well, but in the atmosphere and competitions of the tournament itself, everything changes. Egypt has a very strong team and has a strong chance of winning the tournament”
The tournament is scheduled to commence on January 13, 2024, culminating in the final on February 11, 2024.
