France: Amiens defender Nicholas Opoku escapes suspension

Published on: 28 January 2021

Amiens centre back Nicholas Opoku has escaped suspension in a surprising fashion.

The Ghanaian received a third yellow card in a period of ten matches with the latest coming in a coupe de France game but he was ultimately spared.

This is due to the referee's report on that game which stated that the yellow card was given to Stephen Odey instead of Nicholas Opoku.

This means that the former Udinese man will be allowed to feature for the Ligue 2 club in their next game. However, he will be suspended if he receives another booking.
