Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Ghana Premier League club obuasi Ashanti Gold SC, Frederick Acheampong is urging the sixteen Ghana Premier League clubs not to take the Normalization Committee stand point of refusing to apologize to the clubs serious and put it behind.
The Normalization Committee chaired by Dr.Kofi Amoah in a week past released a statement confirming the cancellation of a proposed special competition which was due to kick off in Ghana.In the statement had unpleasant words according to club administrators, and that they are insulting, therefore should apologize for using Greedy and selfish on administrators."We hereby demand an unqualified apology from the Normalization committee for their description of Premier league clubs as greedy and selfish".
The clubs in a letter to the committee demanded an apology however, they[Normalization committee] have restricted to explanation of the words than apologizing which Frederick Acheampong is impeling the clubs to allow it go and concentrate on bringing back football to Ghana.
"Apologizing for what you do wrong doesn’t kill anyone but it seems the Normalization committee won’t apologize"That letter they brought out as an apology letter is not an apology letter but rather admitting that they did something wrong".
But "I will urge premier league clubs to let it go in the interest of Ghana football because I don’t think they will apologize", he told Happy FM.
He added that, "if Parliamentary select committee on youth, culture and sports asked them to apologize and they are refusing then I will plead with the premier league clubs to let it go for the public to make their own judgment".
"Ideally after the Normalization committee meeting with the parliamentary select committee on youth, culture and sports they should have pulled down the earlier post and draft a nice apology letter but that’s not the case", Fred Achie as popularly known in football circles resorted.
