French Ligue 1 outfit Monaco join race to sign Thomas Partey

French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco have joined the race to sign Ghana star Thomas Partey in the ongoing transfer window.

The Black Stars midfielder has been linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer, with Monaco emerging as a strong candidate.

Partey was in top form for Arsenal in the recent season despite missing out on the Premier League title with the Gunners.

The midfielder was an integral member of the Arsenal but a dip in form latter part of the season caused him to lose his starting role to Jorginho.

The 30-year-old has subsequently been linked with a move away from the North London club, with the club considering a long-term successor in West Ham's Declan Rice.

Partey has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but some European clubs appeared to be interested in him, with the French outfit no exception.

The former Atletico Madrid star could be allowed to move on despite having two more years on his contract with Arsenal.
