French Media Deceived by Hilarious Fake Story Involving Arsenal and President-Elect Donald Trump

Published on: 12 November 2016

The French media have been sensationally tricked into believing a hilarious story involving Arsenal and the United States President-Elect Donald Trump.

The story, which has deceived the likes of L'Equipe, RMC Sport and Yahoo, was posted online by a number of French media outlets, but has subsequently been pulled from the site after realising that they had been duped.

In fact, the mad set of quotes that Mr. Trump had supposedly said was started off by a relatively small news site calledPolitica, which stated that the controversial business tycoon was a Gunners fan, but hated boss Arsene Wenger, suggesting that there was a place 'in hell' for the experienced French manager.

The quotes were published as follows: "I am a number one supporter of Arsenal FC and as a real GUNNER, I expect us to humiliate other minor clubs.

"Arsene Wenger has hurt so many souls worldwide, including myself. This man runs the club like his own property and he does whatever he pleases with it.

More than 200 hate incidents have been reported across the country since Donald Trump's election. https://t.co/sEqP98ZsJT

"How could Manchester beat us? As if that is not enough, Swansea hammered us and the best we could do is hit the woodwork three times. Wenger is a clown, a masquerade and an original version of fake.

"Arsenal has become a punching bag for every team. Can you imagine that some teams like Manchester United and Chelsea can beat us home and away?

"This man Wenger belongs either in hell or in Hollywood acting horror movies."

Incredibly, these quotes are still going around on the world wide web, with many still believed to be true. If only they were, but you can understand why they deceived by it, as it's quite a 'Trump-like' piece of text.
