Friendly: Ivory Coast Surprised By Uganda, Ghana Held In Check

Published on: 15 June 2019

After defeating Comoros 3-1, Côte d'Ivoire has not confirmed. In their second warm-up match before the African Cup of Nations (June 21 to July 19 in Egypt), the Elephants were surprised by Uganda, who scored the only goal of the penalty shoot-out match. Farouk Miya (35th, 0-1).

Nicolas Pepe's team-mates on Saturday will take on Zambia next Wednesday (14.30) for a final friendly match before heading to Egypt. Ibrahim Kamara's men will face Morocco, South Africa and Namibia in the CAN Group D.

For its part, Ghana did not reassure his fans Saturday, conceding a draw 0-0 against South Africa after a defeat unwelcome face Namibia last Sunday (1-0). An ultimate test not ideal, therefore, for the Black Stars, who are in the CAN Pool F with Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau.
