Former Black Stars defender Jonathan Mensah has reacted after being unveiled as the New England Revolution player ahead of the start of the season.

Mensah joined the club as a free agent after leaving San Jose Earthquake at the end of last season.

The 33-year-old is expected to a play a huge role in the upcoming season. He brings in worth of experience having featured in the MLS for seven seasons.

The Ghanaian defender penned a one-year contract for the 2024 MLS with an additional one-year option for 2025.

The 33-year-old has been in the MLS since 2017, featuring for Columbus Crew, San Jose Earthquake and now with New England Revolution.

He was instrumental when Columbus Crew clinched the MLS title and also earning MLS Best XI recognition.

Mensah was named the Crew’s defender of the Year three consecutive times from 2018-2020.

Before the start of the 2023 campaign, Mensah departed Columbus Crew to join San Jose Earthquake and after just a season, he has joined New England Revolution.

He played 26 games for the club, with 21 starts, helping them to reach the postseason.
