Fulham bid for Southampton's Matt Targett

Fulham have made a £10m bid for Southampton left-back Matt Targett, according to Sky sources.

However, it is understood Saints have no interest in selling the 22-year-old as they see him as part of their future plans.

Targett was on loan at Fulham for the second half of last season and helped them to promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

He made 21 appearances during his four months at Craven Cottage, and now Fulham want him to return on a permanent basis.

Targett broke into the Southampton first team four years ago but has struggled to move beyond Ryan Bertrand in pecking order, making just 42 appearances in that time.
