Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville wants Arsenal to win the league if his former side Manchester United don't.

Through a Q&A session on Twitter, the former United captain revealed it was Arsenal he'd hoped would win the league if Mourinho's men do not.

If united don't win I hope it's arsenal.. but im not sure they will https://t.co/1PX2eAkRDV

Arsenal have endured a torrid week with back to back 2-1away losses to Everton and Manchester City, having not lost in all competitions since the opening day. These results led to them tumbling down the table, down from 2nd to 4th, 9 points behind league leaders Chelsea.

Manchester United on the other hand seem to be on the up and have not lost in 10 games. They sit in 6th place and are 10 points behind Chelsea, putting them in a similar position to Arsenal.

Gary Neville had a majorly successful career at United having won eight league titles, two Champions League trophies and two FA Cups.

Arsenal have not won the Premier League ever since their famous 'invincible'season, where they famously did not lose a single game. They'll be hoping to end the 12 year wait and lift the trophy at the end of the season.

United on the other hand haven't won itsince Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement and have endured underwhelming season's since his departure. With the appointment of Jose Mourinho they stand a chance of bringing the trophy back to Manchester.

Both teams are current outsiders and it will take an incredible 2017 for either to finish top of the pile and end up with the trophy.
