Not for the first time this season, Lega Serie A have handed out a suspension for blasphemous remarks and Gian Piero Gasperini will be banned from the sideline as Atlanta travel to the Stadio San Siro on Sunday.

Rolando Mandragora of Udinese was previously handed a ban for using blasphemous language this season after he was picked up on camera shouting: “Porca Madonna, Vaffanculo, Dio Cane,” an insult to the Virgin Mary and referring to God as a dog.

Now, Gasperini will suffer a similar fate after being caught reacting to a SPAL goal during Atalanta’s Monday night defeat in Ferrara.

Lega Serie A confirmed on Wednesday that the Atalanta boss would be forced to sit out the trip to Milan.

Things have not been going well for Atalanta at the beginning of the 2018/19 season. After being eliminated from the Europa League they have suffered consecutive Serie A defeats against Cagliari and SPAL respectively.
