The highly awaited 2023 Gbese Homowo Charity Cup showdown featuring a clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics has been canceled just a day before the scheduled match.
The match was originally slated to take place on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, as an integral component of the Gas' annual Homowo festival celebrations.
Accra Great Olympics chose not to disclose the reasons behind their sudden withdrawal from the tournament.
The possibility of rescheduling the game for a later date remains uncertain at this point.

The Homowo cup match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics scheduled for Sunday, August 20, 2023, has been called off.
This development has been necessitated by a late withdrawal from the said match by Accra Great Olympics.
We apologise unreservedly to Nii Dr Ayi Bonte- Gbese Mantsethe Ghana Football Association, Accra Hearts of Oak SCthe media, and all football enthusiasts for this unfortunate development.
