George Owu to sign contract extension at Ashantigold

Experienced goalkeeper George Owu has been handed a contract extension at Ashantigold after helping the club survive the drop last season. 

The former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper joined the miners last season after Hasaacas were relegated a season before and was vital as the miners beat the drop.

Owu, has kept in the Premier League for over a decade and was part of the national team, the Black Stars when they appeared in their maiden World Cup in Germany 2006.

The 35 year old invaluable experienced will be useful to the Miners deputy goalkeeper George Apronti, who is delighted to learn from the veteran.

According to reports Owu, will sign a year contract extension as the former Champions work their way up to the top of Ghana Football.

The miners have pitched camp in Accra, at the University of Ghana where they have been training ahead of the forthcoming season.
