German-Ghanaian attacker Faris Moumouni joins FC Augsburg

German-born Ghanaian attacker Faris Moumouni has joined Bundesliga club FC Augsburg for an undisclosed amount. 

The 20-year-old joined FC Augsburg from Holstein Kiel II. He will mainly play for Augsburg's U-23 side in the upcoming season.

On Monday afternoon, FC Augsburg's U23s started preparing for the 2023/24 regional league season.

Head coach Tobias Strobl was able to team up with Faris Moumouni at the club's training grounds. Roy Stapelfeld, commercial director of the Paul Renz Academy, and Claus Schromm, head coach for youngsters, addressed the team before the start of training.

Faris Moumouni and his teammates trained in three groups in addition to passing and stabilization exercises, intensive forms of play, and a final run were on the program.

"The team makes a very good impression, which increases the anticipation for the season," says Strobl, who is starting his second year as U23 coach together with assistant coach Felix Kling.

"Now it's time to get to know each other even better and to become a real unit again. We want to do better in sport than in the previous season and develop the players individually,”
