German second tier side SC Paderborn has signed forward Ilyas Ansah to a professional contract.
The East Westphalians announced on Sunday that the 18-year-old German-born Ghanaian had joined the professional team. During the previous season, the young athlete scored goals for the SC Paderborn U19 and U21 teams.
"In his position, Ilyas is one of the most sought-after talents in Germany," said sporting director Benjamin Weber.
"We will continue to build him up carefully," he added.
Ansah moved to Paderborn last summer from Sportfreunde Siegen. The forward helped the U21s be promoted to the local league with six goals and one assist in 10 games.
The talented forward's contract with SC Paderborn was set to expire on June 3oth.
He started his youth football career with SC Lüdenscheid (2017), VfL Bochum (2017-2018), Eintracht Dortmund (2018-2021), Sportfreunde Siegen (2021-2022), and SC Paderborn 07 (2022-)
Ansah's main position is centre-forward but he can play as a left winger or a right winger.
