Ghanaian defender Steffen Nkansah scored the only goal of the game for Eintracht Braunschweig as they claimed an important victory over Hellerscher FC in the Bundesliga 3.
Braunschweig won 4-2 in their previous game against Viktoria Koln and were hoping to clinch another one in this tie.
Braunschweig had their backs against the wall in the opening exchanges but Nkansah stepped up to get them the goal against the run of play. The defender had his say in the 34th minute through a powerful header.
In the second half, Hellerscher went in hard in search of an equalizer but Braunschweig held on to claim yet another victory. It is their second triumph since the league resumed.
Eintracht Braunschweig are now 4th on the log with 47 points from 29 matches.
