Bawumia met the team before their dramatic 4-3 win that has put them temporarily on top of Group I of the qualification for the Mexico, Canada, and USA tournament.

Speaking to the team, he disclosed that he loved football but was not able to break into his secondary nor primary school teams, hence the players making it into the Black Stars make them special.

“The skill level for you, the dedication, and the commitment that is required for you to get to this team…so when you get all the way to the Black Stars level, it takes something special and you are special.”

During the meeting, Bawumia donated 500,000 Ghana cedis to the team as he intensifies he campaign to become president.
