The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the appointment of former Black Stars player Godwin Attram as the new head coach for the national U21 male national team.

Godwin Attram will work with Nana Yaw Amankwah and Abdul Manaf Abubakar as his assistants in his new role in charge of the newly-formed national team.

“As the Ghana Football Association takes steps to strengthen the developmental structures for youth football development, the Association has appointed Godwin Attram as the Head Coach of the newly established U21 national team.

“This strategic decision aligns with Ghana's Football Philosophy (DNA) launched in 2023, which aims at nurturing young talent and building a culture of excellence from grassroots level to the national stage.

“Attram will be assisted by Nana Yaw Amankwah while Abdul Manaf Abubakar serves as the Physiotherapist for the team,” a communique from the GFA said on Tuesday.

The Ghana U21 national team is one of the newly formed national teams by the GFA.

The association believes that these national teams will help keep track of talents as they progress from the youth national teams to the senior national team.
