GFA Boss proud of Black Maidens and Blacks Princess for qualifying for FIFA World Cup

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyatakyi says he is proud of Ghana’s female youth teams, the Black Maidens and the Black Princesses for qualifying for the FIFA World Cup.

The Black Maidens qualified for Uruguay 2018 after beating Djibouti 19-0 on aggregate, following a 10-0 mauling of their opponents in Cape Coast on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Black Princesses reach France 2018, after dispatching Cameroon in the final round of qualifiers last month.

According to the FA president, “women football has come of age” and he was proud of the feat achieved by the girls.

“If you watch the two teams, they are both part of the FA so they are representing Ghana, they are lifting high the flag of Ghana and we are very proud of them,” he said after the Black Maidens victory.

“We hope the two teams qualify for the next stage of the competition so Ghana will have a chance of advancing further in such competitions.”

The first Vice President of CAF, Nyantakyi promised to give the team all the support they need to make an impact at the World Cups.

“We are putting down strategies to will allow us to make a good impact at the World Cup,”

“We don’t have to go there and get knocked out at the group stage,” he added.

“I believe women football has come of age.”

Both side are making a return to the World Cups, with the Black Maidens hoping to go beyond the quarter final stage they reached in Jordan with the Princesses hope to progress pass the group stages.
