Kofi Manu has reacted to Yaw Annor’s inability to play for his new club in Egypt. Manu said the Ghana Football Association cannot sit in their office and declare the player as a free agent because the player's status committee must declare the player as free agent.
Yaw Annor according to reports is yet to kick a ball for his new club Ismaily SC after leaving Ashantigold.
“This is their lack of respect of the courts Kwaku Frimpong the matter that came up in one decision and you banned Kwaku Frimpong and you demoted Ashgold and you banned players. The players international body took the matter to CAS and CAS said with immediate effect we have lifted the ban on the players," he said on Peace FM as monitored by footballghana.com
"The players that are natural person the crime they committed affected Ashgold so any reasonable person once CAS lifted the guys ban you will know that it must have an effect on Ashgold. Because Ashgold as a legal entity was not on the pitch playing football to put the ball into the net you didn’t do that. Now the same decision Ashgold is suffering because of the actions of the players and their officials this same decision Ashgold is contesting the entirety of the decision in court then another show of disrespect when the court was about to talk about the matter you suspend an employee for joining the case,"
"Premier League regulations if you go to article 31 under free agent paragraph 1 or clause 1 A free agent is a player 1 whose contract with his present club has ended B. whose amateur status for the season has expired at the end of the season. C. whose contract mutually have been terminated D. a player who has been so declared by the player status committee on any of the following grounds i. if he is suspended by his club for a continues period of more than six months or if he has for a full league season not been registered by any club or iii. Any other grounds which in the opinion of the player status committee justify such declaration. So apart from the first three which Yaw Annor’s case does not fall in the next one is the players status committee should declare the player as a free agent under the following conditions and any other reasons,”
