GFA confirms dates for all 2024/25 Ghana Premier League match-days

Published on: 23 July 2024

The Ghana Football Association has announced the dates for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

The opening matches will commence on the weekend of Friday, September 6, 2024, through to Monday, September 9, 2024. These matches will be held across all nine Premier League centres.

The season will run for 34 weekends and will conclude on Sunday, June 8, 2025. To alleviate travel burdens on clubs, there will be no official midweek matchdays.

Instead, midweeks will serve to clear outstanding games for clubs participating in the 2024/25 Africa Inter Club Competitions or rescheduled fixtures.

In anticipation of the national elections on December 7, 2024, the league will observe a one-week break. This pause allows players and officials the opportunity to travel and fulfill their civic duties.

The season’s conclusion on June 8, 2025, provides clubs with ample time to meet the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) Club Licensing requirements in preparation for the 2025/26 Africa competitions.

This schedule aims to ensure a smooth and efficient transition for clubs engaging in continental tournaments.
