GFA dispatches GHC300k to RFAs to aid in paying officiating fees

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has injected GHc300,000 into the 10 Regional Football Associations (RFAs) to aid in covering officiating fees for their league competitions.

This move comes following GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku's commitment made during the 29th Ordinary Session of the GFA Congress in Kumasi on July 10, 2023.

Each RFA has received a portion of the fund, calculated based on factors such as the number of clubs and matches in their region, ensuring a fair distribution.

Notably, the Greater Accra football region received GHc50,000, with other regions receiving GHc30,000, except for the Upper West and Upper East regions, which received GHc20,000 each.

These funds will support officiating costs across various league tiers, including Division Two, Division Three, Regional Women's Division One, and Colts U13, U15, and U17 leagues, underscoring the GFA's commitment to grassroots football development.

Officiating fees pose a significant hurdle for clubs participating in the Regional Leagues.

To address this issue, the GFA is allocating GHc200,000 towards the training of Catch Them Young Referees. This investment aims to elevate their skills to an optimal level, ensuring they are well-prepared to officiate in the Regional League competitions.
