GFA Exco member Frederick Acheampong excited about the return of football

Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Frederick Acheampong has expressed delight about the resumption of football after the President, Nana Akufo-Addo lifted the ban on contact sports.

The President in his 17th address to the nation on measures taken to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus pandemic gave the green light for all sporting related activities to commence from next month.

However, the Ghana Premier League together with the Division One is set to start on October 30 after six months of inactive football in the country.

Sharing his thought about the lifting of the ban, the former Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold, “We are very delighted for the resumption of Ghana football and we have accepted the 25% of the spectators that will be allow to be at Stadiums to support their respective clubs”

“As an FA, we will work hard so that the clubs will prepare themselves well before the league starts” he told Hot FM.

He has, therefore, commended government and the Ghana FA for a fruitful dialogue towards the resumption of football.
