The hierarchy of the Ghana Football Association [GFA], the Executive Council will tomorrow, Friday, September 10 hold a crisis meeting following Black Stars shambolic and abysmal performance against South Africa.

After opening up the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers with a 1-0 home win against Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Stadium, the Black Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Bafana Bafana at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Monday.

The playing body and the technical team have come under intense scrutiny following the defeat.

Irate fans have called on the country's football governing body to sack CK Akonnor, who is the head coach of the team, who is on a two-year deal.

However, Dr Randy Abbey, who is a member of the Executive Council has confirmed the leadership will hold a meeting tomorrow and review the performance of the team and the report by the Black Stars management committee.

"We went to play a match and it did not go well with us and the team arrived on Tuesday," he told Asempa FM.

"The GFA has fixed Friday for a meeting so what is the big deal about it?

"Everybody has the chance to discuss the game and nothing stops anybody from discussing the game but nobody can rush the Ghana Football Association [GFA] into doing anything.

"People must take their time and cool heads must prevail. We have to take our time and analyze the situation properly.

"It is not a panic situation and nobody should press the panic button," he added.

Following the defeat against Hugo Broos' side, Ghana sit 3rd with three points and will resume the qualifying campaign with a doubleheader against Zimbabwe next month.

The Black Stars are seeking to return to the global showpiece having missed the last edition hosted in Russia in 2018.

The senior national team have played in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 Mundial in Germany, South Africa and Brazil respectively.
