Ghana Football Association Executive Council is set to unanimously voted for the cancellation of the 2019/20 league season, according to reports.

The 12-member Executive Council led by Kurt Okraku has opted to bring an end to the season due to coronavirus pandemic which was halted all football activities since mid-March.

The deal to terminate all football competitions comes after a meeting was held on Tuesday.

Sponsors such as StarTimes and MTN have been reportedly threatened to withdraw their sponsorship packages if the GFA decides to end the season abruptly.

In the last two years, Football competitions in Ghana have not been effective after the Anas Exposé which resulted in the cancellation of the 2018/19 season.

The Ghana Football Association announced last month that the date of football activities will be decided on June 30.

The FA proposed weekly testing of all players and also training in smaller groups but did not meet the expectation of the government.

The Premier League was at its match week 15 stage when it was halted with Aduana Stars leading the table with 28 points.
