GFA expects nothing but the AFCON 2017 trophy from Avram Grant - George Afriyie

Vice president of the Ghana football Association Goerge Afriyie has insisted that all his outfit expects now from the head coach of the Black Stars, Avram Grant is that he delivers the 2017 Afcon trophy as his contract stipulates.

The former Chelsea boss signed a 27-month deal to take over from Maxwell Konadu, who had been in temporary charge since Kwesi Appiah left in September, 2014.

His contract will finish at the end of February 2017 but the recent tension between the GFA and the Sports Ministry indicates that Grant will certainly head for the exit after his contract runs out.

Despite the uncertainty, vice-president of the Ghana FA, George Afriyie is upbeat.

“Coach Avram Grant’s two year contract was to do well at AFCON 2015 and win the 2017 edition, which was the task given him inside his contract.” “We want and expecting nothing from him than the trophy come 2017.” He said on Angel FM.

The Black Stars went unbeaten throughout the AFCON 2017 qualifiers and are certainly in contention for the ultimate come January 2017 in Gabon.
