The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed veteran coach David Duncan as the new assistant coach for the Black Stars, the information in the local media has revealed.

The appointment of the former Hearts of Oak manager is coming on the back of the dissolving of all national teams' technical teams. According to the GFA, they were forced to take the decision due to the underperformance of the country’s national teams.

Following earlier reports indicating that CK Akonnor has been named as the head coach for the Black Stars, it has now been revealed that he will be assisted by David Duncan.

The 56-year-old is taking up the job after staying at home for the past year after he parted ways with South African club Free State Stars in 2018

His last job on the local scene was with Ghana Premier League giant Kumasi Asante Kotoko. At the national team level, he has coached the U-17 team in the past where he guided the team to win the Silva medal at the 2005 Africa U-17 championship.
