Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, the founder of Groupe Nduom, the parent company of GN Bank sponsors of the Division One League says the GFA is not serious about curbing hooliganism in local football.

According to the politician, his company cannot be a partner to body what he described as ‘wanton disrespect for human life and property’ after Elmina Sharks, Amissah Kobina was hospitalized after he was physically assaulted by fans of Proud United.

The trend of hooliganism has been consistent, and Richmond Keelson, Corporate Affairs Manager of Groupe Nduom said, “We are suspending the league and asking the GFA to give us concrete solutions to this problem, failing which we will abrogate the contract altogether,” he told Joy FM.

“I don’t think [the GFA are serious]. I don’t think so. This is not the first time; it’s been happening. Even the [Ghana Premier League] itself, I hear even the same Sekondi – just yesterday. The visiting team and match officials were taken hostage.”he said.

GN Bank signed a 2-year sponsorship agreement with the Ghana Football Association last year.
