All football leagues in the country have been halted since mid-March due to the pandemic as part of measures to help curb the spread of the disease.

The return of the topflight remains uncertain with opinions divided as to whether it should be continued or cancelled.

Even though he does not support the idea of playing behind closed doors, he backed the GFA not to cancel the league due to coronavirus pandemic.

"I don’t support the idea of playing behind closed doors. Maybe I will get the opportunity to watch but playing behind closed doors is a no for me," Hesse told Happy FM.

"The GFA shouldn’t cancel the season but they should rather engage the clubs on the way forward."

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has said it will wait until at least June 30 to make a decision on the future of the league.

The 2019/20 Premier League was at its match week 15 stage when it was halted with Aduana Stars leading the table with 28 points.
