GFA urged to beef up Black Stars technical team for 2023 AFCON

Former Black Princesses coach Robert Sackey has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to beef up the Black Stars technical team ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

He believes adding more men to the technical team would solve all problems in the team because the team has quality players.

Chris Hughton already has two assistant coaches, George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani but Sackey claims the team needs more hands to turn things around.

“We are going toward the end of November, and you are talking about appointing a new head coach. It was the same problem we encountered in 2006,” he told Asempa FM.

“Let’s just go through the AFCON. I think the technical team needs to be beefed up. If they beef up the technical team, the problems will be solved because we have quality players even without Partey.”

Reports were circulating that the GFA were contemplating parting ways with Hughton before the start of the World Cup qualifiers and could reignite that after the Comoros defeat.
