GHALCA boss believes Kotoko have the biggest fan base followed by arch rivals Hearts of Oak

Ghana League Club Association President who doubles as Ashanti Gold SC Chief Executive Officer, Kudjoe Fianoo has disclosed that Kumasi Asante Kotoko is the biggest football fan based in Ghana followed by bitterest rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.

The Porcupine Warriors celebrated their 81st anniversary where they unveiled most of their history behind the club and introduced their vision to the supporters in the coming years.

Mr. Fianoo who was there as an invited guest said the Porcupine Warriors are the largest fan base in the country, he also added that Kotoko remains the premier force in Ghana Football before Hearts of Oak and tagged his Ashgold team as the third force in the Ghanaian domestic league.

Speaking to the media at the occasion, Mr. Fianoo said, ‘’I remember those days when I was in Tema when Kotoko is in town to play football you will realize indeed Kotoko is in town’’.

‘’In the early 60ths and 70th’s football news in Ghana was only about Asante Kotoko, I didn’t even know there was a team called Hearts of Oak until I traveled to Accra to hear the name’’.

”I was later when I came to Accra when I heard names like Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics and the likes” Fianoo revealed.

Despite his continuous praise for the Porcupine warriors, Mr. Fianoo urged the Kumasi based club to restore their memorable glories years back to put the club to where they belong to.

‘’Eighty-one years in the establishment of business isn’t an easy achievement and so I congratulate you for that but I want you to keeping working very hard to win a continental title probably before you clock 90.” The GHALCA boss added.
