In a pioneering move to fortify the legal knowledge base within the Ghanaian football community, the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) orchestrated a comprehensive legal seminar titled "Legal Matters in Sports."

This groundbreaking event, held at the Plus Wesley Towers in the heart of Accra on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, saw a convergence of legal minds from both Portugal and Ghana.

Kudjoe Fianoo, the Chairman of GHALCA, took the stage to address the seminar, setting the tone for an enlightening exploration into the legal intricacies surrounding football. The event featured distinguished speakers, including Mr. Enam Dzakpasu Esq representing Ghana, and the dynamic duo from Portugal, Mr. Goncalo Almeida and Mr. Andre Duarte Costa.

Beyond the confines of sports law, GHALCA displayed a remarkable commitment to broader societal concerns by engaging in a parallel seminar addressing the urgent issue of counterterrorism. Notably, during this session, GHALCA presented a persuasive paper to the Ghanaian Parliament, advocating for the implementation of legislative measures to shield supporters from potential terrorist threats within stadiums.

This dual-focused initiative not only underscores GHALCA's dedication to elevating the legal acumen of football stakeholders but also highlights their civic responsibility in championing the safety and well-being of fans in the face of contemporary challenges.
