Ghana 2-0 Guinea Bissau: Asamoah Gyan reveals what inspired impressive Black Stars second half performance

General Captain for the Ghana national team, Asamoah Gyan has revealed the secrete behind the impressive second-half performance of the Black Stars that saw them scoring twice to beat Guinea Bissau on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

The Black Stars after failing to get on the scoresheet in the first half of her final Group F match against the Djurtus returned from recess and managed to find the back of the net two times to ensure they picked up the maximum three points.

Speaking in an interview after the victory, Asamoah Gyan noted that the technical team and some of the experienced players in the team had to talk to the players to boost their confidence for the second half.

This he opines helped the starting eleven to get back unto the pitch to perform at the top level to see them beat their counterpart from Guinea Bissau.

“We didn't get the best of games in the first half. We were a bit worried, there was pressure but we went to the dressing room and we had to calm down. We spoke to ourselves, we had a couple of meetings”.

“We the experienced players, the coaches, and everybody had to bring everything together and we saw what happened in the second half. We came back and we score early in the second half. I think that was what boosted our confidence and at the end of the day we won”, the Kayserispor striker disclosed.

After successfully securing qualification into the knockout stage, Ghana has booked a date with Tunisia on Monday, July 8, 2019, at the Ismailia Stadium.
