Ghana and Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus among African players to be named Man of the Match on special UCL night

Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus joined two African players to be named Man of the Match following their impressive performances for their respective clubs on Tuesday.

Mohamed Salah and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who play for Liverpool and Bayern Munich won the Man of the Match award after playing a key role for their clubs.

Kudus continued his fine form to the season as he found the back of the net and provided an assist to help the Dutch giants defeat Rangers 3-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Within four minutes, the 22-year-old set up Berghuis for the first goal. Kudus found the back of the net in the 29th minute to give the away team a 2-0 lead.

The Black Stars midfielder put the ball into the net in the 57th minute but VAR cancelled the goal.

Rangers pulled one back in the 87th minute, James Tavernier scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-1.

Ajax added their third goal in the encounter through Portuguese youngster Francisco Conceição.

Kudus played full throttle for Ajax in the false nine position. After this result, Ajax has six points after six games in Group A and will play in the UEFA Europa League.

Kudus set a new career best record by becoming the first Ghanaian to score four UEFA Champions League group stage goals in a season.

The highly-rated midfielder has scored 10 goals and registered two assists for Ajax in 18 games across all competitions this season.
