Ghana captain Andre Ayew has shared his excitement after making a quick injury return to feature for Nottingham Forest.

Ayew sustained an injury during the international break, missing the Black Stars return leg against Angola in Luanda.

Upon his return to the club, the 2009 U-20 World Cup missed Nottingham Forest game last weekend after failing to recover on time.

But on Tuesday, the former Al Sadd star returned to action for Nottingham Forest in their defeat.

The Black Stars captain made substitute appearance in his outfits 2-1 defeat to Leeds United on Tuesday at Elland Road.

Ayew played for 20 minutes, giving his all, but it wasn't enough as Leeds emerged victorious, putting Forest in 17th place in the standings, above the relegation zone on goal difference.

Despite their eight-game winless run, Ayew stated in an Instagram post that they will not stop fighting.

“Difficult result today. We will not give up, we will keep going👊🏽 thanks to the travelling fans 🤲🏽 good to be back on the pitch," he wrote.

Since his transfer in January, the 33-year-old has made eight appearances for Forest.
