Ghana captain Andre Ayew to join Al Rayyan after parting ways with Al Sadd – Reports

Ghana captain, Andre Ayew has been linked with a move to a fellow Qatari side, Al Rayyan after parting ways with Al Sadd.

Ayew left the Qatari champions by mutual consent on Sunday and is currently a free agent.

According to reports, the forward and his representatives are working on a deal that will see him join a new club before the window is shut.

It is said that Al Sadd direct rivals Al Rayyan are keen on signing the 2009 U-20 World Cup winner.

Ayew’s representatives are in serious talks with the Aspire-based club to conclude a deal in the coming days.

The experienced attacker arrived at Al Sadd in 2021, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Abedi Pele. The former Ghanaian international spent a year at Al Sadd.

Ayew joined the club as a free agent, after leaving English Championship side Swansea City.

In his first season, Ayew scored 15 league goals to help Al Sadd win the Qatar Stars League. He was also instrumental in the club winning the Emir Cup.

The former West Ham man leaves Al Sadd having scored 22 goals and three assists in 39 games over one and a half seasons.
