Black stars skipper Asamoah Gyan is set to splash $400,000 on his boxer Emmanuel ‘Gameboy’ Tagoe as he hosts IBO World Lightweight Champion David ‘El Vasco’ Saucedo of Argentina.

The bout, which is set for November 25, 2016, was launched at the Alisa Hotel in Accra at the weekend.

Speaking at the launch, President of Baby Jet Promotions, Samuel Anim Addo, revealed that it would cost his outfit $400,000 to bring the IBO World Lightweight fight to Ghana.

“We are proud to currently host a world title bout in the country some 28 years after Ghanaians were privileged to watch Azumah Nelson defeat Brazilian Sydney del Rovere at the Accra Stadium on 10th December, 1988.”

“This fight has been dubbed ‘Fist of Destiny’ and we are hopeful ‘Gameboy’ will win this bout.”

‘‘We have spent almost $400,000 in bringing the World title to Ghana. We hope you will help us so we can crown ‘Gameboy’ Tagoe on the day as the new champion. We are also trying to secure the vacant WBA World title in addition to the IBO for the bout. We call on corporate Ghana to come to our aid as well as the support of Ghanaians’’.

The Black stars Captain has been promoting boxing for the past four years and will be hoping to do more away from the playing field by investing in his fighter Tagoe as he seeks to make him a world champion.
