Head Coach for the Ghana national team, James Kwesi Appiah has tipped young striker Kwabena Owusu to be the man to lead the lines for the Black Stars in the future following his impressive debut for the side.

The u-23 goal machine displayed a glimpse of his abilities when he was brought on during Ghana’s goalless draw with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon last Friday.

Speaking in a pre-match conference on Monday ahead of their team’s final group match against Guinea Bissau, Coach Kwesi Appiah who was impressed with the impact the player had on the match after coming on has shared that Kwabena Owusu is a player for the future.

“Kwabena Owusu did well when he came on and players like him are the future. We are looking at giving each and everyone the opportunity when the time arises”, the gaffer said.

Ghana goes into tomorrow’s match against Guinea Bissau knowing well that only a win will secure them qualification into the knockout phase of this year’s continental showdown.

With wingers Christian Atsu and Thomas Agyepong set to miss the match, nibble footed Samuel Owusu could get his first start in the tournament depending on how Kwesi Appiah decides to approach the game.

Striker Kwabena Owusu is also in contention to make another appearance for the Stars following his performance in his last outing.
