Ghana coach Otto Addo is expected to arrive in Accra on Monday, May 27, 2024 ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers next month.

Addo, who took over from Chris Hughton following an abysmal AFCON 2023 tournament in Ivory Coast is set to take full charge of the team after leaving Dortmund.

He signed a 34-month contract with an option for a further 24 months extension as Ghana coach.

In March, he led the Black Stars to play Nigeria and Uganda during the international break, where Ghana lost to the Super Eagles and share spoils with the Cranes of Uganda.

After the games, Addo returned to Germany to complete his tenure with the Bundesliga giants Dortmund.

The 2023/24 Champions League finalists gave Otto Addo a farewell at the end of the Bundesliga season.

However, he is set to assume his role as the full-time coach of the Black Stars.

He is expected to announce his squad for the games against Mali and Central Africa Republic upon his arrival.

The Black Stars will travel to face Mali at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako on June 6 before hosting Central Africa Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium on June 10, 2024.

Ghana are 4th in Group I after winning one and drawing one in their opening two games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
