Ghana international, Alexander Djiku watched from the Racing Strasbourg bench last Sunday when the team defeated Nantes by a lone goal to climb into fourth on the French Ligue 1 standings.
The player after the win was spotted with smiles as he congratulated his teammates for a fantastic performance to secure three big points at home.
On the matchday, Racing Strasbourg was given a tough match by Nantes but a strike from Dimitri Lienard in the 74th minute propelled the home team to the vital victory.
Courtesy of the result, Racing Strasbourg sits pretty in the top four of the French Ligue 1 and with a good chance of playing in Europe next season.
This weekend, Alexander Djiku is in line to return to the starting eleven when his team takes on Angers.
The central defender was part of the Ghana squad that played at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
He has been allowed to destress and looks ready to jump right back into his place in the team as the pivotal defender.
