Ghanaian international Gideon Mensah is developing very well at Belgian side SV Zulte-Waregem according to a report assessing all loan players of Red Bull Salzburg.

Currently contracted to Salzburg until 2024, the left-back was close to securing a transfer to SK Sturm Graz in the summer transfer window before his parent club decided to ship him out to Waregem.

Since his arrival in Belgium, he has proved himself as one of the best in his position and currently counted amongst the fastest full-backs in the division.

So far the left-back has played as a regular at SV Zulte-Waregem where he has featured in twelve appearances in the Belgian Jupiler League and with two assists to his name.

He has also played in three cup matches for his side where he has also provided one assist.

Besides his good display at the club level, he recently earned a call-up to the Ghana senior national team and managed to play in two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against South Africa as well as Sao Tome and Principe.

Gideon Mensah’s performance has not gone unnoticed by Red Bull Salzburg who has been keeping an eye on all the players sent out on loan.

They are now very impressed and are reportedly confident the Ghanaian will eventually return and break into their first team.
