Ghana defender Daniel Amartey impress for Leicester City in 5-2 demolishing of Manchester City

Ghana international Daniel Amartey tasted English Premier League football for the first time in close to 2 years today as he helped Leicester City to thrash Manchester City 5-2 in the English Premier League.

The Black Stars asset had to go the entire 2019/2020 season without playing in the English Premier League because of an ankle injury he had suffered the season before.

Now back to full-fitness, Daniel Amartey returned to action this evening when his Leicester City outfit visited the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City.

A solid performance from the defensive-minded player proved crucial for the Foxes who stunned Pep Guardiola’s men at the end of the 90 minutes.

On the Matchday, a sensational hat-trick from Golden Boot winner Jamie Vardy plus goals from James Maddison and Youri Tielemans completed the demolishing exercise for Leicester City.

Meanwhile, Riyad Mahrez and Nathan Ake netted the consolation goals for Manchester City in the game which ended 5-2 in favour of the visitors.

Daniel Amartey and his team in line with today’s big win are now sitting top of the English Premier League table.
