Ghana defender Jerome Opoku scored and provided an assist for Istanbul Basaksehir in their big win over Kasimpasa.

The 25-year-old assisted the second goal and netted the third in their massive 3-0 win in the Turkish Super League round 16 game on Tuesday evening.

The scoring began with Serdar Gurler opening the account after 24 minutes, courtesy of an assist from Deniz Turuk. Basaksehir entered halftime with a well-deserved one-goal lead.

Jerome Opoku’s influence extended into the second half as he played a crucial role in Philippe Keny’s goal, doubling the lead for the visitors just nine minutes after the break.

Opoku then took matters into his own hands, sealing the match with the third goal eight minutes after the hour mark. His multifaceted performance highlighted not only defensive prowess but also attacking capabilities.

This victory propelled Basaksehir from 13th to 11th position in the league standings, accumulating 23 points. Despite the climb, they remain behind Kasimpasa, who currently holds 26 points.

Opoku’s impact since joining Basaksehir on loan in the summer is evident, with three goals and one assist in 10 league appearances this season.
