Ghana international, Jerome Opoku has commenced pre-season training at his club, İstanbul Başakşehir.

The centre-back in June secured a permanent transfer to the Turkish Super Lig side after previously playing for the team on a season-long loan.

In an official club statement from the Turkish outfit, it said the Black Stars defender signed a three-year contract.

He would have the chance to extend for an additional year if he manages to impress.

“A 3-year contract was signed with our player using the option of Jerome Opoku, whom we rented from the Portuguese club Arouca at the beginning of the 2023-2024 season with the option to purchase.

“We wish success to Jerome Opoku, who will continue his career as a valuable member of the Başakşehir family,” the Turkish Club said on Wednesday, June 26.

Today, Jerome Opoku has joined his teammates at İstanbul Başakşehir for pre-season training.

He is aiming to work hard to maintain a starting role in the team for the 2024/25 football season.
