Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo was sent off as his team Celta Vigo lost 1-0 to Getafe on Wednesday night in LaLiga.

The 27-year-old was sent off for a bad challenge on Enes Unal, leading to a second yellow card in the 77th minute. This is the second red card of his career and the first since 2018.

Aidoo has been instrumental for Celta Vigo this season, featuring in 34 games in all competitions and scoring four goals.

Getafe secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Celta de Vigo in their battle to avoid relegation from La Liga, ending their run of three consecutive losses.

Enes Ünal's penalty in the third minute proved to be the only goal of the match, with Celta unable to create many clear-cut opportunities despite enjoying 68% possession in the first half.

Getafe came close to scoring a second goal through Jaime Mata, and Celta's Joseph Aidoo was sent off in the 77th minute, making things even more difficult for the away side.

Munir El Haddadi had a chance to score for Getafe in the dying moments of the match, but his effort hit the crossbar. The result leaves Getafe in the relegation zone but only on goal difference, while Celta remain in mid-table but have now lost four of their last five games.
