Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu starts pre-season training with Southampton after injury return

Ghana international Mohammed Salisu has recovered from his injury to join Southampton's pre-season. 

The 23-year-old who has been out of action for Southampton since February was spotted at training on Wednesday as they prepare for the new season.

Salisu joined his teammates on the first day of pre-season led trainer Russel Martin

The team went through various drills, including short sprints and physicals as the players work on their fitness.

Southampton will play Reading FC and AFC Bournemouth in pre-season friendlies before the new season begins.

The Saint will be competing in the English Championship in the upcoming season after failing to maintain their status in the Premier League.

Southampton were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2022/23 season.

Meanwhile, compatriot Kamaldeen Sulemana is yet to report to camp for pre-season.
