Ghana and Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu wants to emulate Liverpool star Virgil Van Dijk.
Salisu has been exceptional for Southampton this season featuring in a chunk of games for the club after a torrid first season with the club.
He joined the Saint for £10.9m in 2020 summer from Spanish club Real Valladolid and could not hit the ground running in his first season.
In an interview, the Ghanaian defender disclosed he wants to be like the Dutch guardsman a day to come.
“I think Virgil is a very good central defender and, I would say, is one of the very best central defenders in the world.
“One day, I want to be like him, especially with how he plays and the confidence he has and how he leads the team.” He said.
