Ghana defender Patric Pfeiffer nets as SV Darmstadt beat Magdeburg

Ghanaian defender Patric Pfeiffer was on target for SV Darmstadt in their 1-0 win over Magdeburg in the Bundesliga II on Thursday.

The 23-year-old's lone strike was enough to seal all three points for his side.

The win extended SV Darmstadt at the top of the Bundesliga II table to four points after 16 matches played so far this season.

After a goalless first half, Pfeiffer rose high to head home the winner in the 78th minute of the game.

The highly-rated defender has scored four goals in 16 appearances for Darmstadt in all competitions this season.

Despite his impressive performance, he was not named Ghana's 55-man provisional squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar which kicks off on November 20.

Being born in Germany, but also having Ghanaian origins, Pfeiffer can choose to represent either the countries internationally.

The Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku announced in July that Pfeiffer was one of the few players that had officially switched allegiances to represent the Black Stars.
